The Makita XRJ01Z reciprocating saw is an excellent choice for users who need a portable recip saw with a great deal of power. The electronically-controlled brushless motor on the XRJ01Z offers users a variable speed switch to match power output to the task at hand. This recip saw features a tool-less blade change system which makes swapping out blades quick and easy for the user. It also boasts a Makita exclusive dual-position on/off switch and an LED light to illuminate the cutting path. The variable speed trigger allows users to achieve 0-3,000 spm , which allows for faster, more efficient cutting when combined with the 1/2" stroke length on this tool. The ergonomic handle features textured overmold for user comfort, even on lengthy jobs. This saw is powered by Star Protection Computer Control-equipped battery models BL1815N, BL1820, BL1820B, BL1830, BL1830B, BL1840B, BL1850, BL1850B, and BL1860B (sold separately). Star Protection technology allows the tool and batteries to communicate in order to protect against overloading, overheating, and over-discharging to deliver the best possible battery life.
