The Makita BL1820 18V 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery features Makita’s Star Protection Computer Controls. This handy communication tech allows the battery and a tool to exchange data in real time to monitor usage conditions and protect against battery over-discharge, tool overload, and potential damage from overheating. It also features an on-board memory chip that communicates with your charger for optimum battery life. This BL1820 18 volt battery provides up to five times longer run time than comparable products, and is capable of reaching a full charge in as little as 25 minutes. It’s compatible with 18V LXT & 18V compact Makita tools that also feature the Star Protection symbol, and is designed for use with the following charger models: DC18RA, DC18SD, DC18SC, DC18SE, and DC18RC (sold separately).
